So on my first post on nonprofits,
I though it would be appropriate to start off with a local organization.
Today I’m going to talk about Keep Austin Fed.
Keep Fed is a local nonprofit organization that survives on volunteer aid from the public with the goal to reduce the amount of hungry people in Austin. Volunteers gather healthy and consumable foods from local business, restaurants, caterers, and event and put them directly in the hands and mouths of the people in need.
Keep Austin Fed has worked with:
- Circuits of the America’s
- Whole Foods
- Kerbey Lane
- The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf
- Snap Kitchen
- Mandola’s Italian
- University of Texas
- Trader Joe’s
- Micah 6
- and several others
What can you do to help?
It’s easy to get involved with this organization. Simply go to their website and follow the directions under the Volunteer tab, or click here to go straight to the page.
If you become or already are a volunteer, you can request to join their closed Facebook group “Keep Austin Fed Volunteers” for timely opportunity and updates.
